Sony's Morbius Trailer Teases MCU Connection

Posted on February 2, 2020February 3, 2020 by Jennifer McMurray

Sony has released the first trailer of their film about the Marvel character Michael Morbius, a doctor who gets a rare blood disease and cures it, only to gain bat-like qualities such as fangs, echo-location, and a taste for blood.

It’s part of Sony’s Spider-Man universe, which also includes Venom, but it also seems to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is a surprise. It was previously thought that the Sony films weren’t a part of it. Sony and Disney briefly fought over the Spider-Man rights last year, so this new MCU connection might be a result of that.

It will be released on July 31, 2020. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below.
